[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you’re looking for a body moisturiser to take you into summer, this is it! I love body hydrators that include some acids because you see so much more of a difference in skin smoothness that you would with a regular moisturiser.
AHAs in body skin care whip away all the dead cells that can clog and lead to bumps. I have bumpy areas on the front of my thighs and far less so now since EMSculpt, the backs of my arms. While I’ve taken supplements for many years that have negated the absolute need for body moisturising, they do nothing for skin smoothing. In any case, I’ve just stopped taking them to try a new brand so I may well be eating my words. You will feel the silkiness from Drunk Elephant TLC Glycolic Body Lotion (using glycolic, tartaric, lactic and citric) from the very first application – it’s got no scent (I was expecting it to smell like the shampoo) and is very light in texture.
If you have ultra-sensitive skin, you’d probably want to give this a miss, or at least apply only a couple of times a week but I’m honestly so impressed with the absolute silkiness that it gives me it’s now a firm favourite in the bathroom. I like this ‘does more’ type of product – the hydrating oils are marula, the brand’s signature, shea, passionfruit and apricot – and think it’s very good value at £21 HERE. You should pay extra attention to your SPF if you are using AHAs anywhere on your face or body. I also rate Sandra Lee MD Glycolic Body Lotion (£36) but it’s not currently in stock, and of course, Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion which is on offer for £11.25 HERE. I’d say that DE seems effective more quickly than Ameliorate while SLMD is richer than either (but more expensive and unavailable!).
