For the second year, the Women United Affinity Group of United Way of the Big Bend, is preparing to dazzle patrons during their spring fundraising event known as “Shop & Stroll.” This event, formerly known as Dress Down & Dine, will take place in the Market District from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24.
Local businesses in Tallahassee will come together to offer special discounts and raffle items including a chance to win a gold & diamond necklace donated by Hearth & Soul.
Funds raised through ticket sales help to support the initiatives of Women United and United Way of the Big Bend in their mission to lift women and families out of poverty.
“Shop and Stroll is such a great event in that it truly is community supporting community. We are raising money and awareness for United Way programs, while supporting so many fabulous local Market Street merchants and participating vendors from throughout our city,” said Angie Sipple, Chair of Women United.
Tickets for the event may be purchased in advance at uwbb.org/shopstroll/ for $25 and include exclusive offers and an opportunity to win raffle items at participating retailers. Tickets may be purchased the evening of the event at the registration table located in front of Skin Science (between Pink Narcissus & Jos. A. Bank) for $30.
Additional information on special offers including the Spring Savings Box, Bling Ring, and VIP Package can be found on the website.
Over 19 vendors will be participating including: Skin Science, Hearth & Soul, The Wine House, Chic Verte, Black Fig, Gypsy Rose Boutique, Coton Colors, Momo’s Pizza, Market Street Liquors, Midtown Reader, Poco Vino and more. Shop & Stroll is sponsored by Capital City Bank, Tallahassee Community College, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, Trulieve, and Skin Science.
“Shop & Stroll is such a fun event that encapsulates what Tallahassee is all about while at the same time providing a chance to shop with friends and to support United Way and our amazing vendors in the Market District and around Tallahassee. This event promises to be a fun night!” said Katherine Boland, Women United Shop & Stroll Event Chair.
