Over the past week, Kim Kardashian took us on a trip down memory lane. The social media star wore a look that was the spitting image of Carmen Electra’s Stephen Sprouse optical illusion dress from the 1998 MTV Movie Awards. The white T-shaped dress appeared to float on her body, but in reality, it was fastened at the back by an invisible plastic strap. Kardashian posed in an Instagram slide wearing the piece with the caption: “Love me for me, ok?” (Fun fact: Electra once told Vogue that the dress had gotten her on all the worst dressed lists at the time.)
Speaking of Kardashian, her sister Kendall Jenner has been having a very chic time on Instagram. The model showed off a noughties-inspired look that included a curve-skimming print dress, an itty bitty silver shoulder bag, and a pair of hulking rimless sunglasses—one to keep in mind when you start planning your summer outfits. Elsewhere, Naomi Osaka took a moment poolside in Miami wearing quite the elegant look: a silver, sparkle-dotted sleeveless turtleneck dress.
Taking a trip to the seaside was model Shay Zanco, who stood in front of the sunset looking absolutely stunning in a mini dress with a design of leaping whales on the front. (Talk about serene.) Finally, in New York, Livia Rose Johnson was looking as cool as ever in a lace going-out top, a leather jacket, and jean pants with the waist sheared off. The perpetually stylish Johnson also left us with some important words: “We really all need to prioritize ourselves tbh!” That’s something that we can all get behind.
