A woman who bought a set of secondhand nightstands at a thrift store got a blast from the past when she found an old note stuffed inside, she claimed in a viral TikTok video.
TikTok user Valencia said the nightstands she bought from a Goodwill shop contained a note, clearly scribbled by a kid, with her home phone number from 15 years ago and her mom’s cellphone number, News.com.au reported.
“The weirdest thing just happened, and I’m not making this up. I literally don’t care how many people comment and say ‘Oh my God, this was staged,’” she said in the viral video.
“My heart’s like a little trembly. This is really cool.”
Valencia said the note specifically said “Carly’s home number and mum’s mobile number” — and then explained that her little sister’s name is Carly and the home phone was her family’s landline in the early aughts.
“We have not had a home phone, probably like 10 to 15 years. But what are the chances of that?” she said in the clip, which has already racked up more than 300,000 views.
Other scraps of paper were tucked inside the tables, sending Valencia on a mission to find the author.
She found a little girl’s name written on one piece of paper and a last name scribbled on another — and then managed to track down the person, who turned out to be a childhood friend, on Facebook.
Some TikTok users didn’t find the coincidence that mind-blowing, but Valencia reminded fans that she lives in a big city that’s home to more than 3 million people.
Valencia’s TikTok account says she lives in San Diego, Calif., though it’s not clear where she bought the nightstands.
Others were just as amazed as Valencia.
“Perfect example of what’s yours will always come back to you,” one TikTok user wrote.
Another said, “That is so crazy but wonderful!”
